The Changing Face of Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is known for his slightly eccentric behavior, but his latest look has left even his rep bewildered. Jackson's spokesman told the New York Post that he couldn't explain the bandages, but that the Gloved One hadn't had any recent medical procedures. Jackson, 49, was snapped up taking 10-year-old Prince, 9-year-old Paris and 5-year-old Blanket on a late-night shopping spree at a Barnes & Noble bookstore near their Las Vegas home this weekend.

Jackson's skin color began looking noticeably lighter by the late 1980s, shown at left in 1988. Meanwhile, accusations of plastic surgery were thrown at the pop star. He admitted, in his 1988 biography, "Moonwalk," to two rhinopasties and a surgically created chin cleft. However, Jackson, shown at left in 1989, denied cheekbone surgery and attributed the change of the shape of his face to a change in diet and maturity.
